| Obituary | Apr 26, 1979 | OBITUARY: MERIDEN - Donald G. Giguere, 60, of 23 Shore Drive, husband of Eva Burda Giguere, died Tuesday evening at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven following a lengthy illness. Born in Claremont, N.H., he was the son of the laste Wilfred A. and Mildred Hurd Giguere. He was educated in New Hampshire and moved to Meriden 40 years ago. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army 82nd Airbourne Division as a paratrooper. He saw action in Anzio and Sicily, Italy as well as Holland, Africa and Belguim, He fought in the famous Battle of the Bulge in France. Giguere was a supervisor for Girnell Sprinkler Co. of Providence, R.I., for 30 years. For the past nine years he was the supervisor for Southington Sprinkler Company and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Francis (Joan) Rusczek of Meriden; a son, Thomas D. Giguere of Mansfield; a grandchild; a sister Mrs. Rudolph (Geraldine) Savaria of California; two brothers, Wilfred A. Giguere of Rhode Island and Malcolm W. Giguere of Meriden; his stepmother, Gertrude B. Giguere of Meridan; and several nieces and nephews. A military funeral will be held Friday at 8:15 a.m. from John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main Streetand at 9 at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Publish in The Morning Record and Journal, Meriden, Ct., Thursday, April 26, 1979.4 |
