Obituary | May 3, 1974 | OBITUARY: ARTHUR J. (JAKE) WRIGHT, of 55 Longfellow Dr., Dennis, died unexpectedly yesterday at his home. He was born in Groton, MA Sept. 9, 1915, the son of the late Charles and Amy (Tolles) Wright and had made his home in Groton most of his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He had been a rural mail carrier for 31 years at the Groton Post Office, until his retirement in 1972. He was a Past Commander of the Laurence W. Gray Post No. 55 American Legion of Groton. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jane (Garrow) Wright of Dennis, a stepson, Malcolm McKown of Wilmington, Del., a son, Jeffrey A. Wright of Annapolis Junction, MD., a daughter, Jane Ann Shifflette of Dennis; a sister, Mrs. Everett (Amy) Lapham of Carlisle, and two grandchildren.
