ObituarySep 24, 2010  OBITUARY: SHIRLEY -- Jamie S. (Alling) Sullivan, 64, a longtime resident of Shirley, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston.

Her husband of 45 years, John W. Sullivan, died in November 2008.

Mrs. Sullivan was born in Pueblo, Colorado, October 6, 1945, a daughter of Althea E. (Garrow) Alling and the late Gordon L. Alling, and grew up in Littleton. She was a graduate of Littleton High School, Class of 1963.

Besides her mother of Fort Myers, Florida, she is survived by her daughter, Dawn E. Sullivan of Winthrop; her sister, Sandra L. Valentine of Pepperell; and her granddaughter, Lillian Sullivan.

She was predeceased by her son, Kevin Sullivan, in 1991.

Jamie had been active in Shirley Recreation Committee, the Benjamin Hill Recreation Area, and the Friends of Shirley Students. She had been a contributing reporter and columnist to the Public Spirit and the Shirley Volunteer.

SULLIVAN -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM, Monday, September 27th at St. Anthony's Church, 14 Phoenix Street, Shirley. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are 3-5 p.m., Sunday at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road (Rte. 2A), Ayer. Please see www.andersonfuneral.com for additional information.
