ObituaryAug 11, 1963  OBITUARY: LEXINGTON, N.C. – Charles A. Mountcastle, 87, of 1130 Fairview Drive, Lexington, N.C., died Monday, August 8, 1963, in a hospital. He was the husband of Bernice Gay Euler Mountcastle, a native of Portsmouth, VA.

He had retired as the owner of G.W. Mountcastle Insurance Agency. He was a past employee of the Commercial Bank of Lexington.

Mountcastle was a member and former deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Lexington. He was a Paul Harris Fellow in the Rotary Club. He was a Mason and a Shriner.

He is also survived by two daughters, Betsy Garrett of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Camille Martin of Mocksville; a sister, Frances McKay of Lexington; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, August 12, 1963 in First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. James Grant. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery. Voglers-Piedmont Funeral Home is in charge.

Memorial donations may be sent to a charity of the donor’s choice.
