| Obituary | Jan 19, 1990 | OBITUARY: LEXINGTON - Mrs. Bernice Gay Mountcastle, 87, of 1130 Fairview Drive died Thursday, Jan 18, 1990, at the Medical Park in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery. She was the widow of Charles Andrew Mountcastle and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lexington. A native of Portsmouth, Va., she was a former first grade school teacher. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Captain Benjamin Merrill Chapter, and of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Robert E. Lee Chapter. She was also a member of several other civic organizations. Surviving are stepdaughters, Mrs. Betsy Garrett, Mrs. Camille Martin, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C; brother, Charles Gay of Portsmouth, Va. The family will be at the residence 7-9 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
