Obituary | Feb 21, 1995 | OBITUARY: WORCESTER - James F. Lyons Jr., 65, of 52 Country Club Blvd., a longtime truck driver and softball coach, died Friday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, West Roxbury, after a short illness. He leaves three sons, James F. Lyons III of Worcester, Robert J. Lyons of Westminster Station, Vt., and Micheal J. Lyons of Gardner; three daughters, Donna Lyons of Worcester, Sandra Gauthier of Brattleboro, Vt., and Kim Lyons of Gardner; and five grandchildren. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, son of James F. and Albertine (Robichaud) Lyons, and lived here most of his life. Mr. Lyons was a Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Lyons was a truck driver for many years for Denholm & McKay Co. department store, Sears, Roebuck and Co., and Capitol Toy Co. He then worked at the former Lincoln Lanes and was later a security guard at the Harold D. Donohue Federal Building, retiring last year. Mr. Lyons was a softball player and coach for many years and an avid bowler. He was a former member of the Grafton Hill Post, American Legion. The funeral will be held tomorrow from Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., with a Mass at 1 p.m. in St. Bernard's Church, 228 Lincoln St. Burial will be Thursday in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Calling hours are 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham 01701.
