Obituary | Jul 8, 2001 | OBITUARY: Lillian E. Lamoureux, 92, widow of Joseph I. Lamoureux, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, at her home. She was born April 10, 1909, in Enosburg Falls, the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Longe) Lafley. She was a resident of Enosburg Falls and Berkshire most of her life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Ann Society. Lillian enjoyed her family and grandchildren, reading and poetry. She especially enjoyed playing golf with her family and friends, having played as recently as last year. She is survived by a son and his wife, Paul and Dorothy Lamoureux of Berkshire; five daughters and their husbands, Joan and Herman Kane of Berkshire, Helen Armour of Enosburg Falls, Grace and William Jones of Essex, Mary "Susie" and Richard Ewins of Berkshire, and Margaret and Michael Elkins of Montgomery; a daughter-in-law, Celia ""Rose" Lamoureux of Berkshire; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph I. Lamoureux, in 1989; two sons, Joseph Lamoureux Jr., in 1961, and Patrick Lamoureux, July 3, 2001; a great-granddaughter, Julie Lussier, in 1980; two sisters, Helen Comeau and Grace Leahy; and a brother, Kenneth Lafley. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Lillian and her son, Patrick, on Saturday, July 7, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls. A graveside service for Lillian will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls with the Rev. Gerard Leclerc officiating.
