ObituaryJan 31, 1912  OBITUARY: CHARLES G. GARROW, a Civil War veteran, died suddenly at his home, No. 12 Stratton Road, yesterday morning, Jan 30, 1912, at 11:20 o’clock, of heart disease.

Mr. Garrow had been a victim of heart trouble for three or four years, but his death was unexpected, and in fact he seemed to be in rather better health than usual yesterday, and for several days past. Members of the family say that he seemed well and showed a degree of vivacity he has not exhibited in years. He left his seat in the kitchen yesterday, to make a trip to the barn, and when he returned he remarked that he felt cold and clammy and as if he was going to die. Two minutes afterward he was dead in his chair.

Mr. Garrow was born in Canada 77 years ago last October. He had been a resident of Rutland, VT for 34 years. Mrs. Garrow died about three years ago. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Louise Raymond, Mrs. Delia Elkey and Mrs. Mary Brow; and two sons, Leon and Charles Garrow Jr., all of Rutland. He also leaves two sisters, Louise, of New Bedford, MA and Tarzile of Plattsburgh, NY, and a brother, Adolphus Garrow, last heard of in Massachusetts. Mr. Garrow enlisted in the Sixth Vermont regiment, at St. Albans, in 1862.
