Obituary | Dec 10, 1953 | OBITUARY: PULLMAN, WA., Dec. 11, 1953 – Funeral services were held this afternoon at Kimball Funeral Home for Harry Kendall, 71, president and business agent for the Pullman-Moscow painters Local No. 1726. Mr. Kendall died in his room some time Tuesday at the Russel Hotel, where he made his home. The body was found by Ted Dillon, who also rooms at the hotel. Both police and a local physician pronounced the death due to natural causes. Mr. Kendall was born October 19, 1882, in Vermont and had lived in Pullman nine years, coming here from Pomeroy. He was a Spanish-American War veteran, having served in the Philippines for three years. Services were conducted by the Rev. William Gamble of Greystone Presbyterian Church. Burial with military honors took place in the cemetery, with a firing squad provided by Company E of the 161st infantry regiment. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Kendall, of Pomeroy; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Thomaier of Seattle; a sister, Mrs. Stella Hall of Seattle; and a brother, Guy Kendall of Alturas, CA. The latter arrived in time for the services and joined Mrs. Kendall and her father, A. L. Cabbage of Pomeroy. Published in the Spokane Chronicle, Spokane, Washington, Friday, Dec. 11, 1953.3 |
