Book Excerpt* | Samuel Titus moved to Bath from Rhode Island and settled on the Harris farm. About 1782 he moved to Landaff, where he held many offices of trust. He came to Lyman in 1805,where he reared a family of eight children, namely: Eleazer, Samuel, John, Luther, Calvin, (married Sarah CHAMBERLAIN) Mary (married Benjamin SHERMAN. He married 2nd Sarah TITUS widow of Calvin) and two others. He died in 1818, at the age of 85. He was made Captain at town meeting in 1772. He was commissioned Captain in the Continental Army Sep 5 1775, 7th Company (Bath), 12th Regiment of Foot, Colony of New Hampshire (Rev Rolls, vol 3 page 924).
