ObituaryJul 13, 2002  OBITUARY: HOBBSVILLE - Thomas Elliott Bagley Sr. of Keys Cross Road died Thursday, July 11, 2002, in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City.

Mr. Bagley was born in Gates County and was the son of the late Rollache E. Sr. and Eunice Hofler Bagley.

A retired foreman with American Sheet Metal in Norfolk, he was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are two sons and their families, Thomas Elliott Bagley Jr., his wife Cheryl, and their children, Shane, Tyler, and Spencer Bagley of Jupiter, Fla; Barry Lawrence Bagley, his wife Linda, and their children, Brent and Holly Bagley of Hobbsville; and two sisters, Cora B. Buell of Elizabeth City and Thyreese B. Blake of Norfolk; a brother, George ''Buck'' Bagley of Williamston, N.C. Other survivors include his former wife, Frances Lawrence of Colerain, N.C., and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Bagley was preceded in death by a brother, R.E. Bagley Jr.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Sandy Cross Baptist Church by the Rev. E. Vernon Gilmer Jr. Burial will follow in Warwick Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and all other times at the residence.
