| Obituary | Oct 21, 2023 | OBITUARY: Muriel “Dolly” Flood, 79, of North Troy, VT passed away on October 19, 2023 at her home. She was born on June 30, 1944 in Jay, VT to the late George and Zelia (LeGue) Mayhew. On June 19, 1965 she married Melvin Flood who predeceased her. Muriel attended Sacred Heart High School in Newport. She was employed as a mold builder for Newport Plastics for many years. She enjoyed riding, sightseeing, doing word search puzzles and bird watching. She was also a lifelong member of the VFW Auxiliary in Newport. She is survived by her son Steven Flood, sisters Germaine Beldon and Violet Verge, brother-in-law Dexter Flood and his wife Mary-Ann, sisters-in-law Beverly Gilbar and her husband Cedric “Bud”, Caroline Stringer and husband Robert, Edna Flood and Sherry Aubin and her husband Dennis, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her daughter Carmen Anita in 1982, son David Roger in 1982, brothers Ernest, Gilbert and Maurice Mayhew and sister Ozilda Pouliot. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. on Thursday October 26, 2023 at the Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday October 26, 2023 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Troy, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated, with Father Benny Chittilappilly officiating. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Lowell.
