ObituaryMar 6, 2001  OBITUARY: ST. ALBANS -- Mr. Mandus S. Quebec, age 82, died Sunday afternoon, March 4, 2001, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care Center following a brief illness. He was born in Swanton June 13, 1918, son of the late Charles and Victoria (Berger) Quebec. October 21, 1941, he married Rita Moulton. After over 52 years of marriage, Rita died on Feb. 16, 1994. Mandus served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and returned to become a machinist for Union Carbide Consumer Products, where he worked for over 35 years. Mandus loved flying and was a member of the American Legion Post #1 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #758.

He is survived by his five children, David and his wife Dianne Quebec of Fairfax, Deborah and her husband John Hauck of St. Albans Bay, Dean Quebec of San Diego, Calif., Pam and her husband John Sweeney of Fairfield, Kim and her husband Arthur Hughes of St. Albans, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife he was predeceased by his siblings Rudolph, Milo, Charles, Frank, Clarence "Chummie," Corrine, Sadie and Elaine.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Brady & Levesque Chapel. Friends may call at the Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in the Quebec family lot in Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.
