Obituary | Apr 14, 2017 | OBITUARY: Hwa Yol Billado ( "Sophie"), 75 of Barton, passed away on Tuesday, April 11th, 2017 in Glover, VT. She was born in Seoul Korea on May 15th, 1941. She was the daughter of Il Song Pak and Sae Hui Yang. She married David Billado on April 7th, 1970. They met while David was serving in the military in Korea. Sophie is the love of David's life and they were very happily married for 47 years. She worked at Ethan Allen in the finishing department for 30 years and later retired in 2001. She loved taking care of her family and her home. She also enjoyed cooking, crocheting, playing bingo and card games, decorating furniture, shopping, knitting sweaters, handcrafting items and bringing them to local fairs and selling them. Sophie was a very hard working, proud, generous and giving woman. Her love for her husband and daughter was very clear as they always came first. She enjoyed holidays because her family would gather to eat meals she had prepared. Sophie's delicious homemade eggrolls that she made during the holidays were famous around the area. Sophie leaves her cherished memories to her husband David Billado of Barton, her daughter Danica Billado and her boyfriend Jason Stearns of Hampton, NH, and by her brothers and sisters in Korea. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and a host of friends who played very important roles in her life. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, April 15th, 2017 at 10:00AM at the Barton Baptist Church with the Pastor Gary Ashton officiating.
