Obituary | Jan 14, 2018 | OBITUARY: WATERLOO – Patricia Alberts died peacefully on her 89th birthday, December 22, 2017, in Sarasota Florida, lovingly embraced by several members of her immediate family. Friends and family are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m.on Thursday (January 18) at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street, Waterloo. A graveside service will be held in Glenwood Cemetery, Geneva, NY, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in the name of Patricia Alberts, to Sarasota Hospice House, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238-9989. Born in 1928 in Auburn, N.Y., Pat was the only daughter of William J and Harriette M (Gleason) Stine. She worked for General Electric for over 30 years in Clyde, and later in Auburn. After retirement, she worked as a sales associate for Wal-Mart in Geneva. She was a member of the following ladies' auxiliaries: American Legion Post 435; VFW Post 6411; and the Korean Veterans. For the past two years, Pat held membership in the VFW Sunshine Post 3233 in Sarasota, Florida. A good friend to many, Pat enjoyed playing cards, bowling, dancing, horseshoes, karaoke night at the Meadows, and trips to the casino. Pat is survived by her children Wanda (John) Babbitt of Fla., Mary (Jim) Alberts of Wash., Tanya (David) DeWitt of Fla., Darcy (Chris) McLaughlin of Fla., Ronald (Barbara) Alberts of Fla., John (Leanne) Alberts of Herkimer, Jim (Judy) Alberts of Fla., and LaMay (Dave) Gilroy of Tyre; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and her daughter-in-law, Dinah Alberts, of Fla; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband and son, George "Ebo" and Monty Alberts; and two brothers, William and John Stine. Published by Finger Lakes Times from Jan. 14 to Jan. 16, 2018.2 |
