| Obituary | Feb 10, 2022 | OBITUARY: South Royalton—Dean Salls Sr., 69, a lifelong Vermonter, died Sunday morning, January 30, 2022, at his home. He was born May 23, 1952, in Randolph; the son of Hiram Salls and Freida Cornell. He attended Randolph High School. He was raised in Randolph Center, before moving to South Royalton in 1987 to spend his next 35 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Those who knew Dean, knew his sharp attitude and stern way of thinking would make for having a strong constitution. Survivors include his two children: Dean Salls Jr. of Braintree, and Krystal Salls of South Royalton; granddaughter, Sierra Salls of Claremont, N.H; siblings: Hiram “Isaac,” Barbara, Helen, Doreen, Jessie, and Julie; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Gordon and Duane Salls; as well a sister, Maidene Rice. A graveside memorial service will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Randolph on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 10 a.m. Online condolences may be left at www.dayfunerals.com.
