Obituary | Dec 23, 1979 | OBITUARY: James Hughes Mahoney, 81, of 721 38th Street, West Palm Beach, FL, died Saturday, December 22, 1979. He was a veteran of World War I having served with the Yankee Division. He was a retired employee of Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph; a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America; and active life member of the American Legion, Palm Beach Post #12; and he was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church of West Palm Beach, FL. He is survived by his wife, Caroline Mahoney of West Palm Beach, FL; his daughter, Margaret Lacatski of Daytona Beach, FL; a sister, Mrs. Mae Merrill of Cohasset, MA; a brother, Joseph Mahoney of Medford, MA; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Rosary services will be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 1979, at Quattlebaum- Holleman-Burse Funeral Home, 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach. The Funeral Mass will be said at 9 a.m. on Monday, December 24, 1979, at St. John Fisher Catholic Church with interment to follow in Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, West Palm Beach.
