Obituary | Apr 13, 2015 | OBITUARY: ENOSBURG FALLS / SHELDON - Pauline Mary Minckler, passed away Sunday April 12, 2015 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. She was born October 4, 1939 in Highgate the daughter of the late Raymond & Lucille (Durkee) Machia. Pauline attended schools in New York and Highgate. She loved playing cards and belonged to a cribbage group and two 500 groups. Pauline was a great cook and was famous for her wonderful desserts which she brought to all the family reunions. She was also an accomplished painter and crafter. She was a feisty woman with a quick tongue and a huge heart. She was always there to help someone. Plagued by illness throughout her lifetime, she was not a complainer and found happiness in the littlest things, like an afternoon of tea with friends, Joan Pariseau and Marie Raymond. She loved being with her family, especially her great grandchildren. Pauline was a very strong lady and much loved, she will be missed more than words can say. Pauline was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she devoted her time and talents on the annual Christmas Bazaar. Pauline leaves her children, Randy Minckler and his wife Jenni of Murfreesboro, TN, Steven Minckler and his wife JoAnne of Sheldon, Brian Minckler and his fiancé Sandi Budziak of Sheldon, Anne Paradee and her husband Mark of Fairfield, Brenda Godin and her husband Pierre of Enosburg Falls; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; her brothers & sisters, Rodney Machia, Larry Machia and his wife Alice, and Patsy Conder and her husband Dan; her sisters-in-law, Betty Machia, Audrey Jewett & Marie Raymond; the father of her children, Wilfred Minckler and his wife Rita; and her good friend, Mary Larivee; several nieces, nephews & cousins; and her faithful companion, Koa. Besides her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her brother, Robert "Bobby" Machia; sisters-in-law, Carol Ann Machia & Theresa Stanhope; brothers-in-law, Doug Farrar, Spencer Stanhope & Laurel Kittell. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 62 Missisquoi St., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Roger Charbonneau celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be held later this spring in the Sheldon Village Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4-7 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
