| Obituary | Sep 24, 2013 | OBITUARY: Newport News - Loyce Elaine Jones Rountrey, 89, joined our Lord on September 19, 2013. Elaine is survived by her three children, Barbara Jo Rountrey Ziese (Don) of Madison, WI, James Baxter Rountrey (Gale) of Smithfield, NC, and Debbie G. Rountrey of Newport News; four grandchildren, Heather Rountrey, Brandon Rountrey (Charmaine), Fields Scarborough, and Travis Scarborough. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Gates Rountrey; her parents, Jim Willis and Ethel Amanda Jones; a brother J. W. Jones; and a sister Catherine Brinkley. The family would like to thank the staff at James River Convalescent Center for all their kindness, support and great care they gave Elaine and her family. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Akers officiating. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Peninsula Food Bank. Arrangements by W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
