ObituaryJan 22, 2014  OBITUARY: Loretta S. McCoy, 83, of Orleans, VT passed away peacefully on January 21, 2014 in Newport. She was born January 29, 1930 in Brownington, VT to Ezekiel and Cecile (Dumont) Perry. On February 11, 1956 she married Dale C. McCoy who survives her.

Loretta was a mail carrier for the United States Post Office where she retired after 20 years of service.

She was a member of St. Theresa's Guild and she was always ready to give the church a hand. She was an excellent cook much to the delight of her family. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and bird watching especially cardinals, hummingbirds and chickadees.

Her family was the love of her life and she always looked forward to their visits which brought her great comfort and joy.

She is survived by her husband Dale McCoy of Orleans, VT, by her children: Harold D. McCoy and his wife Andrea Brightenback of Hardwick, VT, David J. McCoy and his wife Diane of Walden, VT, Julie A. McCoy and her partner Gary Brown of Hardwick, VT, Timothy J. McCoy and his wife Kathy of Brownington, VT, Steven A. McCoy and his wife Sheryl of Irasburg, VT, Amy M. Morley and husband Michael of Albany, VT, and Laurie J. Rice and her husband Robert of Brownington, VT. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and by two sisters: Clemence LeBlond of Jay, VT and Claire Lyon of Brownington, VT and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters Blanche Coates and Mary Ann Darling and by her brothers: Maurice, Noel, Francis, and Leon Perry.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Friday January 24, 2014 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday January 25, 2014 at ST. Theresa's Catholic Church in Orleans, VT where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Spring interment in St. Theresa's Cemetery, Orleans, VT. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to the Orleans Ambulance Service, c/o of Dot Collier, 1327 Dry Pond Road, Glover, VT 05839.
