ObituaryJul 24, 2005  OBITUARY: SUFFOLK - Marie Ellis Byrum, 59, died July 23, 2005. She was a native of Suffolk and was a former secretary for Oscar Byrum Plumbing Company. She was a member of the Salvation Army Suffolk Corp. and attended Southside Baptist Church. She was a member of Suffolk’s Women of the Moose Lodge No. 1315. She was the daughter of the late Maude West Ellis and Frank Ellis and was also predeceased by her son, Frankie Lee Byrum. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Oscar Lee Byrum; daughter, Glenda M. Gentry Grimstead of Suffolk; grandchildren, Robbie, Richy, Kyla, Krissi, Melanie, Jason, Dustin, Wendy; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Ashleigh Lynn; daughter-in-law, Gloria Queery Byrum of Chesapeake; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Archie Pruitt of Suffolk; and numerous others that loved her. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Glenda M. Gentry Grimstead. A funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
