Obituary | Aug 6, 2006 | OBITUARY: Francis W. Alling Sr., 88, of Nashua, formerly of Westford, Mass., died Monday, July 31, 2006, at his home in Nashua. Mr. Alling was born Oct. 11, 1917, in Springfield, Mass., son of the late William F. and Adelade M. (Fralick) Alling. He was the beloved husband of Mildred (Richards) Alling. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Alling was a car salesman at Nashua Ford. Before that, he was employed at the Tannery in Ayer, Mass. He served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Alling was predeceased by a son, John R. Alling, who died in 1989. Besides his wife, survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Francis W. Jr. and Caroline Alling of Maryland and Robert K. Sr. and Irene of Maine; a daughter, Loretta J. Williamson of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, Robert K. Alling Jr. and Maia Alling, both of Maine, Joseph Alling of Virginia, Mary Alling of Louisiana, Carrie Lauritzen, Ian Williamson and Erin Williamson, all of Massachusetts; five great-granchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
