ObituaryJul 10, 2004  OBITUARY: Irene Conley, 92, of Barton, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died peacefully in Barton on Friday, July 9, 2004. Mrs. Conley was born in Barton on March 7, 1912, a daughter of George Harold and Nellie Elaine (Scott) Jenness. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at many nursing homes, including her own on Elm Street in Barton before settling in on the third floor of North Country Hospital, from which she retired. She was a stockholder for the Orleans County Fair Association and the Vermont Nursing Home Association. She enjoyed bowling, berry picking, knitting, gardening, and fishing. In 1934 she married Burton Conley, who predeceased her on January 22, 1983. She is survived by four of her seven siblings: Dorothy Parmelee and her husband, Sam, of New York, Elwin Jenness of New York, Kenneth Jenness and his wife, Ruby, of Morgan, and Walter Jenness and his wife, Joyce, of Derby; by her daughter Betty Walker of Barton
