| Obituary | Jun 13, 1980 | OBITUARY: Tunbridge – Graveside services for Barbara Elizabeth Young, 56, who died Wednesday evening at Gifford Memorial Hospital in Randolph following a long illness, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Spring Road Cemetery in Tunbridge. The Rev. David L. Wolfe and Elder John Pease will officiate. Mrs. Young was born Jan. 4, 1924 in Malden, Mass., daughter of George D. and Lou (Hopkins) Sherman. When she was a child, she and her family moved to Quechee where she attended school. She was married May 28, 1954 to Raymond N. Young of Tunbridge, who survives her. She was employed in woolen mills in the Quechee, Hartford and Enfield, N.H. areas. She was also employed with Merrimaid Manufacturing Co. Inc., in Randolph and Chelsea. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Freeman (Frances) Clark of Tunbridge; two sons, Raymond P. Young and Will M. Young, both of Tunbridge; nine grandchildren; her parents of Lebanon, N.H; a brother, George Sherman Jr. of Montgomery; a sister, Mrs. Earl Hill of West Lebanon, N.H; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A daughter, Elizabeth, died in 1949 at the age of five. Friends may call at the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Vermont Division, 13 Loomis St., Montpelier 05602.
