Obituary | Dec 27, 2002 | OBITUARY: RICHFORD -- Ellareta O. Wetherby, age 77, died Thursday morning, Dec. 26, 2002, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. She was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Richford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lydia (Martin) Pollander. She was a life long resident of Richford and was employed at Sweat-Comings for several years on the cleaning staff and then worked as a house cleaner in the area. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 12 of Richford. She is survived by a son, Robert Wetherby of Richford; four daughters, Winnie Thompson of Enosburg Falls, Lydia Lawyer, Anne Loiselle and Robin Guyette, all of Richford; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest Pollander and his wife Kathleen of Bradford, and Wilfred Pollander of Burlington; three sisters, Gladys Lumbra of Franklin, Eloise Demar of Enosburg Falls, and Reba Ryea of Richford; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Wetherby; a daughter, Tayna Maskell; four sisters, Hilda Chaplin, Jessie Young, Louise Owens, and Glendora Birch; two brothers, Frederick and Freeman Pollander. In keeping with Reta's wishes, there will be NO services this winter. A date for graveside service will be announced next spring. There will be no visiting hours. For those who wish, contributions in her memory may be made to the Richford Fire Department, Main Street, Richford, Vt. 05476. Spears Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
