Obituary | Oct 25, 1982 | OBITUARY: SWANTON – Richard F. Corwell, 40, a life-long resident of this area, passed away Saturday at his home. Mr. Corwell was born in Highgate, Dec. 5, 1941, son of Fay and Gertrude (Ladue) Corwell. He was an employee of Green Mountain Roofing and Paving in Essex. He was married on Feb. 5, 1977, to the former Alice Wetherby, who survives him. Mr. Corwell also leaves three sons, James of Swanton, Brian and Michael, both of Sheldon; two daughters, Mable o Sheldon and JoAnn of Swanton; one step-daughter, Robin Baptle of Swanton; four brothers, Roswell of Germany, Fay of Sheldon, Edwin of Swanton and Wayne of St. Albans; two sisters, Mrs. Garland (Mable) Durack of Georgia and Mrs. Herman (Betty) Brooks of Louisville, KY; one grandson, Jeremy Pappano of Swanton; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. Interment will follow in the family lot in Rice Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. Gifts in Mr. Corwell’s memory may be made to the Missisquoi Valley Rescue Squad Inc., P.O. B0x 22, Swanton.
