ObituaryMay 22, 1981  OBITUARY: BRATTLEBORO, VT -- Mrs. Adella I. (Goodell) Haskins, 67, wife of Carroll H. Haskins of Greenleaf Street, Brattleboro, died Thursday morning, May 21, 1981 at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, NH, following a short illness.

She was born in Dover on June 25, 1913, the daughter of Joseph and Minnie (Powers) Goodell. Her marriage to Mr. Haskins took place in 1930 in Cambridge, NY. A resident of Brattleboro for the past 50 years, Mrs. Haskins was employed for many years carrying the mail between post offices in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

She was a member of Deerfield Valle Bible Chapel.     

Besides her husband, she leaves eight sons: Howard, Daniel, Phillip, Davin, Stephen, Thomas, Samuel and Gary, all of Brattleboro; five daughters: Shirley Scarborough of Whiting, Jean Goddard and Miss Rachael Haskins, both of Brattleboro, Mrs. June Doucette of Hinsdale, NH, and Mrs. Rebecca Edson of Dummerston; 31 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Three sons, Stuart, David and James, died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 24, 1981, at 2 p.m. at West Brattleboro Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Townshend. Friends may call at Rohde-Dawley Funeral Home Saturday, May 23, 1981, from 7 to 9 p.m.
