Obituary | Oct 30, 2006 | OBITUARY: ALBURGH - Mr. Howard Kenneth Bohannon, age 71 years, died Friday afternoon, Oct. 27, 2006, at the Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans Town. Born at home in Alburgh on May 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Isaac and Ruth (James) Bohannon. He attended Alburgh Schools. In his earlier years he worked for a short time on the Central Vermont Railroad and later on the farm for his brother-in-law Earle Collins. He also did various jobs for people throughout the community including George Braely. He enjoyed country music and in his younger years played drums at the American Legion. Howard leaves two sisters, Grace Collins and her husband Earle and Bernice Bohannon, all of Alburgh; three sisters-in-law, Geneva, Joanne and Diane Bohannon; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lydia Gamache and Elva Maskell; and four brothers: Elwin, Philip, Delbert and Willard Bohannon. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. The Reverend Doctor John C. Kehoe will officiate. The Prayers of Committal and Interment will follow in the Bohannon family lot in Bush Cemetery, Alburgh Village. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Gifts in Howard's memory may be made to the Alburgh Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue, 4 Firehouse Road, Alburgh 05440.
