Obituary | Mar 5, 2010 | OBITUARY: Doris May (Ryea) RIley Tabor, 82, of Bridge St., Northampton, died Wed., Mar. 3, 2010 at Calvin Coolidge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a period of declining health. Born in Hartland, Vt. May 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Darel E. "Jack" & Grace M. (Elliott) Ryea. She grew up in Windsor, Vt. and attended local schools. She attend Windsor Bible Baptist Church. She was employed by the Brattleboro, Vt. Retreat and the Northampton State Hospital. She was a longtime school crossing guard at Bridge Street School, Northampton, retiring in 1997 after 18 years of service. In 1946, she married Mahlon J. Riley. In 1953, she married Baron H. Tabor who died in 1991. In 1954 they moved to Northampton. She is survived by two sons, Brian Tabor and James Tabor of Northampton; a special son, Robert Barnett of Northampton; one niece and two nephews; and several cousins. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, John Mahlon Riley, and sisters Beatrice Warren and Jeannette Maltais Neveu. There will be no calling hours. Service and burial will be at the convenience of the family in Bridge St. Cem., Northampton, in the family lot.
