Was raised by her supposide adoptive parents (Reuben & Carry Hamblet) in Vermont. She was married as Ila May (Hamblet) Ranney. She did not learn until in her late fifties when she was unable to find an adoption record or birth certificate that not been adopted by the Hamblets. She had been celebrating a different birthdate all of those years. She appears in the 1920 & 1920 census records as the daughter of Reuben & Carry Hamlet.5
