Obituary | May 12, 2003 | OBITUARY: BRATTLEBORO – Keith E. Wilder, 63, lifelong resident of Brattleboro, died early Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Cheshire Medical Center, Keene, N.H. He was born in Brattleboro on May 19, 1939, the son of Charles and Marion (Woodward) Wilder. He attended schools in Brattleboro and graduated from Brattleboro High School class of 1957. After high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force for three years, stationed in Germany. He was a longtime self-employed general contractor in the Brattleboro area. He held memberships in Eagles Aarie #2445 for 43 years, American Legion Post $5 for 17 years, and Brattleboro Elks Lodge #1499 for 11 years. He was an avid patron of the Hinsdale racetrack and loved to play poker and go to auctions. He was a former member of the Brattleboro Country Club. During his failing health over the last four years, his loving pets Bandit and Jessie spent all their time with him. He is survived by his son, Ross Wilder of Winchester, N.H; a daughter, Lori Haskins of Keene; his loving longtime companion, Rachel Haskins, of Brattleboro; and his brother, Clyde Wilder, of Brattleboro. He was predeceased by brothers Merrill, Wendell and Donald Wilder. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2003, in Locust Ridge Cemetery, at 3 p.m. with military honors. Friends are invited to call at the Max E. Carr Funeral Home on Monday, May 12, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. The Brattleboro Elks Lodge #1499 will conduct a service at 6:30 Memorial contributions in Mr. Wilder’s memory may be made to the Vermont Kidney Association, P.
