Obituary | Aug 30, 2002 | OBITUARY: ENOSBURG FALLS -- Sarto R. Brodeur, age 83, died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 29, 2002, at Haven Health Facility in St. Albans. He was born June 21, 1919, in Granby, Quebec, Canada, the son of the late Henri and Marie-Rhea (Lusignan) Brodeur. Sarto moved to Vermont in 1945, and worked as a dairy farmer for over 25 years. He then was employed by Rochleau Motors. Following retirement, he became a handyman for his children and especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie (Tetreault) Brodeur of Enosburg Falls; three sons, Richard Brodeur of Enosburg Falls, Robert Brodeur and his wife Eleanor of Milton, and Claude Brodeur and his companion Ruth Way of Berkshire; three daughters, Henriette Emch of Richford, Denise Hoadley and her companion Hector Brown of Enosburg Falls, and Nicole Herron and her husband Gerald of Enosburg Falls; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Rita Rainville of St. Paul d'Abbosford, Quebec, Henriette Daoust of Granby, Quebec, Berthe Rollin of St. Hubert, Quebec, Laurence Archambault of St. Dominque, Quebec, and Monique Vachon of Delson, Quebec; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Pauline Brodeur; a son-in-law, Paul Hoadley; four brothers, Elisee, Joseph, Oliver and Richard Brodeur. Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Reverend Gerard Leclerc celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
