ObituaryApr 16, 1997  OBITUARY: Katherine Newsome Hoffler, 78, of the 5500 block of High Street W., died Tuesday April 15, 1997, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Hoffler was a homemaker and the secretary/treasurer of the J.B. Hoffler Agency Inc. for more than 40 years. She was a member of Churchland Baptist Church and the Victory Chapter (NU)16 Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Elizabeth Manor Country Club. She was a native of Seven Mile Ford, Va.

Mrs. Hoffler is survived by her husband, James B. (J.B.) Hoffler; three daughters, Linda H. Greenough of Chesapeake, Patricia H. Giles and her husband, Martin L. Giles of Richmond, Katherine H. Courage and her husband, Ralph M. Courage of Virginia Beach; a brother, George Newsome of Traverse City, Mich; four granddaughters, Jennifer K. Adkins, Amy S. Greenough, Katherine and Kelsey Courage.

A funeral with an Eastern Star service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, by Dr. R. Clint Hopkins. Entombment will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
