Obituary | Sep 17, 2012 | OBITUARY: BURLINGTON - Eileen "Peggy" Lorrain, 89, of Burlington, went to be with the Lord and the love of her life, Don Lorrain, on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, with her family by her side. She was born on Oct. 20, 1922, in London, England, the daughter of Albert and Lilian Goodall. She married the love of her life, Clement "Donald" Lorrain, in London, on June 3, 1944. He predeceased her on June 1, 1989. Peggy was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, where she was very proud to have taught religious education for several years; and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Peggy liked to bowl, bowling on the Catholic Daughters team and later on the XY League. She was an avid Yankees fan and loved to watch golf and tennis, and was especially pleased that her fellow countryman, Andy Murray, won the Olympic Gold Medal and the US Open. Mom was most happy when she had many of her family members around the dining room table for one of her wonderful meals. She was a great cook and always managed to have everything piping hot when it was served. Peggy is survived by her children, daughter, Jean Lorrain, and son, Derek Lorrain Sr. and wife, Patricia, all of Burlington; two grandchildren, Pamela Wooster of Burlington, and Derek Lorrain Jr. and wife, Christy; four greatgrandchildren, Samantha Lorrain, Nathan Lorrain, Jacob Wooster, and Elizabeth Lorrain; nephew, Richard Forcier; nieces, Joanne Sheppard, and Carol Hummel and their families of Connecticut; a special niece, Janet Wilkinson and husband, Terry, and a special nephew, Norman King and wife, Denny, both of England. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. at LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St., Winooski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. Mark Catholic Church in Burlington. Interment will follow in New Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
