Obituary | Oct 30, 2018 | OBITUARY: Charles E. Pitkin died October 29, 2018 at Hanover Terrace in Hanover, NH after a period of failing health. Charlie was born August 28, 1928 in Hanover, NH a son of William and Eva (Baker) Pitkin. He graduated from Hartford High School class of 1946. He was married to Miriam Higgins in 1956. Charlie was a hard worker and always had at least two or three jobs he worked at Ward Baking, White Mountain News, Rutland News, Cross Company, Don McClay Construction, Plainfield Oil, Johnson & Dix and Dartmouth Savings and Loan. He truly enjoyed delivering parts for Advanced Auto Parts and Shaker Valley Auto Parts. Miriam died in 2013. Charlie was a devoted Seventh Day Adventist attending regularly in Plainfield, NH. He was a firefighter in Lebanon, Meriden and Enfield, NH serving as both a Call and a Volunteer firefighter. Charlie was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. He enjoyed gardening and going for rides on his motorcycle. He is predeceased by a son Charles Pitkin Jr; two sisters Elizabeth and Peggy; a brother Paul and his first wife Violet Mann. Charlie is survived by three daughters, Barbara Cannon and her husband Buzzy, Aura-Lee Nicodemus her husband Bob and Julie Miller and her husband Doug; all of Enfield; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
