He was born April 16, 1944, in Hanover, N.H., son of Addison and Annie (Clow) Patterson.
He had worked for the Department of Corrections.
Mr. Patterson served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era.
Survivors include a son, Scott Patterson of Bennington; a sister, Beverly Wheelock of Windsor; two half brothers, Charles Beauregard of Hartland and Earl Patterson of Proctorsville.
There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Bridgewater.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pearsons Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Lyndonville.
