ObituaryMar 16, 2005  OBITUARY: SWANTON -- Mrs. Margaret Mary Belrose, 85, passed away early Friday morning, March 11, 2005, in the Haven Health Care Center.

She was born in Highgate, June 5, 1919, the daughter of the late Perly and Delena (Greenwood) Longe. She lost her parents at an early age and was raised by her older sister for a few years until she married Louis Charles Belrose on June 27, 1936. He predeceased her on June 26, 1973.

She was a member of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary where she belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne. In her earlier years she was a very avid Bingo player and also enjoyed playing Parcheesi with her husband Louis and Ralph and Kit Minckler. She liked visiting with everyone and loved children, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed cooking breakfast for her grandkids; whether it was pancakes, flat eggs or hamburg in her own special way. She answered to many names Ma, Mom, Grammy, Gram, Mim, Mimi and great-grawmy. She loved knitting, reading and shopping, especially grocery shopping with flyer coupons.

Margaret is survived by two sons, Marvin Belrose and his wife Peggy of Land of Lakes, Fla., and Gary Belrose and his wife Andrea of Swanton; twin daughters, Carol Concannon and her husband James of Milton, and Carolyn Callan and her husband Peter of Swanton; 10 grandchildren: Eric, David, Jeffrey, Robert, Thomas and Mark Belrose and Danny Bourdeau, Julie Concannon and Patrick and Jonathan Callan; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Guilford (Catherine) Medor of Swanton and Mrs. Marcel (Helen) Renault of Boynton Beach, Fla; a brother-in-law, Lawrence Bellrose; and a sister-in-law, Gwen Belrose both of Swanton; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was predeceased by her sisters, Angelina, Louise, Nelda, Rita, Geraldine and Calla; and her brothers, Kenneth and Isadore; and a grandson, Michael Belrose.

She will be missed by all and greatly welcomed by her Lord and Savior.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St., Swanton. Father John J. Meagher, SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. Interment will follow in the Belrose family lot in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, on Tuesday, March 15, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
