Obituary | Jan 6, 2017 | OBITUARY: Armand R. Diette, age 79, Barton, Vermont and Summerfield, Florida, passed away on Jan. 2, 2017, at his daughter's home surrounded by his family in Sutton, Vermont, following a period of declining health. Armand was born in West Glover, Vt., on June 22, 1937, son to the late Arthur Felix and Maria (Sheltra) Diette. He was raised and educated in W. Glover and joined the Air Force at the age of 17 and was stationed in Texas at Amarillo Air Force Base. On May 20, 1961, he married the former Elizabeth E. (Sicard) and they have shared 55 years together. Armand worked as a plumber and they made their home in Barton and have wintered in Florida for many years. Armand was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Barton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards and was almost always the winner at horseshoes. He so very much loved visiting with family and friends. Armand is survived by his beloved wife Betsy Diette, his five children: Kathy Devereaux and husband, Chris, of Sutton, Vt., Peter Diette and wife, Teresa, of Barton, Vt., Kevin Diette and wife, Jennifer, of Richford, Vt., Tracy Dupuis and husband, Richard, of Groveton, N.H., Jeffrey Diette and wife, Stephanie, of Brighton, Colo., a sister: Antoinette "Peanut" Makrianis of Holyoke, Mass., 9 grandchildren: Brandi, Matthew, Joel, Kevin, Jr., Corey, Carlie, Kaitlyn, Lauren, Erin, and 7 great-grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua, Meghan, Gabriel, Madison, Briahna and Ella and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 7 siblings: Paul Diette, Cecile Hebert, Yvonne Urie, Pauline Gilfillan, Irene Renault, Rachel Coburn and Janet Currier. A private Graveside Service will be held in the spring at the Veteran's Cemetery in Randolph, Vt. There will be no Calling Hours. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.guibordfh.com.
