Obituary | Jan 4, 1992 | OBITUARY: Manchester-by-the-Sea - Donald G. Aldrich, 83, husband of the late Gretchen (Stephens) Aldrich, of 14 Walker Road, died Thurs. Jan 2, at the Mass. General Hospital, Boston. Born in Arlington, son of the late Clifton E. and Eva (Davenport) Aldrich. Graduate of Quincy High School and attended Yale University Evening School for three years. Worked as a salesman & salesmanager in sweaters, yarns & notions for more than 40 years, retiring in 1987. Survived by two sons, Stephen E., husband of Sandra Aldrich of Orlando, Fla., and James S., husband of Cynthia Aldrich of Manchester-by-the- Sea; a daughter, Janet E., wife of Kenneth G. Hablow of Weston; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Geoffrey and Staphanie Hablow, Thomas J. and Evan S. Aldrich, Simone, Stephen E.Jr., Suzanne and Deborah Aldrich; 2 nieces. He was the brother of the late Harold Aldrich of Lynnfield. The Rev. John G. Hughes II, pastor of the First Church Congregational of Manchester-by-the- Sea officiating at funeral sevices. burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
