| Obituary | May 29, 1945 | OBITUARY: S/SGT Lawrence T. Duffy served on a B-29 Superfortress during World War II. On April 13, 1945, his plane was shot down over Tokyo. Duffy survived and was taken prisoner, but subsequently died in a Japanese prison fire when the guards refused to release the POWs from their burning cells.
