Obituary | Apr 24, 1997 | OBITUARY: ST. ALBANS BAY - Mrs. Bernice E. Cantell, age 80, went home with the Lord Wednesday morning, April 23, 1997 from the Fletcher Allen Health Center. She was born in Burlington September 2, 1916 daughter of the late Henry and Odell (Foisy) Bezio. She married Kenneth Cantell October 15, 1938 and together they operated a dairy farm for many years, Bernice was a communicant of Holy Angels Church, a longtime member of Lakeside Grange #309 and Pamona Grange and a member of A.A.R.P. She is survived by her daughter, Betty and her husband Arnold Hope of St. Albans Bay; four grandchildren, Robin Hope of Essex Jct., Wendy Hope of Swanton, Karen and her husband Jeffrey King of St. Albans, Kenneth Hope of St. Albans and his fiancée Deborah Sabourin of Montreal, Quebec; seven wonderful great-grandchildren, Jamie, Dyland, Joshua and Kasey King, Morgan, ryan and James Hope; a brother, Donald (Pete) and his wife Lenore Dezio of Burlington; two sisters, Theresa and her husband Walter LaBounty and Elsie Quinn, all of South Burlington; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth October 26, 1984 and by three sisters and four brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11a.m. in Holy Angels Church. There will be no public calling hours. Memorials may be made to the Vermont Kidney Association, Boc 244, Burlington, Vt. 05402-0244 or the Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, Vt. 05478. Burial will be later this spring in the Cantell family lot in St. Albans Bay Cemetery Arrangements are by the Brady & Levesque Funderl Home. Published in the ST.
