ObituaryOct 19, 1955  OBITUARY: NORRIS PREBLE, SR; SOLON, OCT. 18 - Norris A. Preble, Sr., died Tuesday at a Skowhegan hospital after a long illness. He was born at Burlington February 28, 1887, the son of James O. and Hannah (Sibley) Preble. Before becoming a resident of Solon nine years ago, he had been a resident of Madison for 28 years. He married Mrs. Minnie Damren of Norridgewock October 28, 1941. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons by a former marriage, James H. of Gray and Norris A. Preble, Jr., of Madison; four brothers, John, Lester and Charles, all of Burlington, and Orrin Preble of Springfield, Mass; a sister, Miss Annie Prebleof Burlington; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Edwards Funeral Home, 165 Main Street, Madison, Wednesday from 2 to 4 o'clock in the afternoon and from 7 to 9 o'clock in the evening. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home in Madison at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, the Rev. Preston Penn the Solon Congregational Church officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery, Madison (Maine).
