ObituaryDec 4, 1941  OBITUARY: Tragic news came to West Dennis last week end in notice of the death of a newly married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley M. Pickering of that community, which occurred in Connecticut. The couple, returning from a honeymoon trip to Washington, were overcome by fumes of a gas heater in an overnight cottage at Branford, CT. A double funeral was conducted yesterday afternoon at West Dennis Methodist Church, just one week and three days from tho date of their marriage. The service was conductd by the Rev. Edwin C. Holly, the minister who had joined the young couple in marriage. The bride was formerly Miss Lillian Bradbrook of Everett. Mr. Pickering, a native of West Dennis, was a son of Lorenzo S. and Mrs. Lucy E. Chapman Pickering. He graduated from Yarmouth High school and was the popular proprietor of a grocery store in West Dennis.
