ObituaryJan 20, 2003  OBITUARY: Stephen Bronchuk of Northampton, 87, of 14 Butternut Lane, died Saturday at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Born in the Roxbury section of Boston, December 10, 1915, he was the son of the late Michael and Xenia (Horoshuk) Bronchuk.

He was educated in Boston schools and attended M.I.T. in Boston. He lived in the Boston area for most of his life, moving to Northampton 11 years ago.

He was a World War II Army Veteran participating in the D-Day invasion and the Battle of the Bulge.

He worked at the Boston Globe for over 20 years as a printer and later a compositor, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral in Boston, the Boston YMCA Outing Club. He was an avid candlepin bowler.

His wife, Mary G. (Gavriluk) Bronchuk died in August 2002. He is survived by 2 sons; Stephen M. Bronchuk of Leominister, and Daniel A. Bronchuk of Swanton, VT., a daughter; Stephanie B. Kelly of Northampton, a brother Michael Bronchuk of Rockland, MA, 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral will be Monday at 2PM in the St. Xenia Russian Orthodox Church, in Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in the St. Peter and St. Paul's Cemetery in Methuen. There are no Calling Hours. The Ahearn Funeral Home in NORTHAMPTON is in charge of arrangements.
