Obituary | Dec 24, 2004 | OBITUARY: MARGARET MAE GARANT, of New Lothrop, MI, passed away on Wednesday evening, December 22, 2004, at the McLaren Regional Medical Center, age 92. She was born on September 22, 1912 in Alpena, the daughter of Oliver and Eva (LaBrecque) Prieur. She married Norman Garant July 1, 1933, he predeceased her on November 6, 1996. She loved her family dearly, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved to bake, knit and crochet. She was a very giving person. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic church. Surviving are: one son, Charles and Marie Garant of New Lothrop; 3 daughters, Patricia and Ron Wenzlick of Flushing, Marjorie and Lloyd Henige of New Lothrop; Kathleen and Ron Gross of New Lothrop; 30 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Prieur, Andrew and Doris Prieur, Thomas Prieur; son-in-law, Thomas Kline. Predeceased by her husband; one daughter, Fidelis Kline; brothers, Elmer, Leonard, Joseph; and sister, Marie Rothwell. Funeral Mas will be 11 AM Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Maple Grove, Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate. Burial in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Whelpley-Martin Funeral Home, New Lothrop on Saturday from 6 PM to 9PM and Sunday 10AM until 9PM and at the church on Monday after 10 AM. Scripture service will be 7 PM Sunday.
