Obituary | Apr 30, 2014 | OBITUARY: Marguerite Tatro Sullivan of Wilbraham, MA, passed away on April 29, 2014 at Baystate Medical Center. Marguerite was born in Springfield, MA and was the daughter of the late Roy and Margaret Tatro. She grew up in Agawam, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Agawam High School. Music played an important role in Marguerites life. She was an accomplished vocalist, pianist, and organist, and was the soprano soloist for many years at the Immaculate Conception Church in West Springfield. She took part in annual shows. She was also a past member of the Junior Extension of the Tuesday Morning Music Club. Marguerite was a former long-distance operator at New England Telephone Company. During World War II while her husband was serving as a photographer in the Air Force overseas, Marguerite was a telephone operator for the War Department from 1942-1945. Marguerite was a nature enthusiast, a birder, and a gardener, and enjoyed the company of her dogs throughout the years. Marguerite was a devoted wife and mother whose happiest times were spent with her family. She is predeceased by her husband, Eugene F. Sullivan, Jr, her brothers Bernard, Louis, and Gilbert Tatro. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen Sullivan of Wilbraham, MA, and Christine Carroll and her husband George of Bradford, MA. Also surviving are her brother Paul Tatro and his wife Lucille of East Longmeadow, her sister-in-law Mary Tatro of Agawam, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services with burial in Adams Cemetery, Wilbraham are private. There are no calling hours. Forastiere-Smith Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
