ObituaryJun 18, 1948  OBITUARY: Willis Woodley Hofler, 70, died at a Norfolk hospital yesterday at 12:40 a.m. after a long illness.
He was a son of the late Alfred and Frances Bagley Hofler. A native of Gates County, N.C., he had made his home here for 11 years at 645 West 35th Street.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Julia Lassiter Hofler; four daughters, Mrs. M.T. Ingram, of Memphis, Tenn; Mrs. G.A. Herndon, of Chuela Vista, Calif., and Miss Lucille Hofler and Miss Julia Hofler, of Norfolk; two sons, M. Luther Hofler, of Edenton, N.C., and William Hofler, of Honolulu; five grandchildren; two half-sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Lassiter, and Mrs. Julia Cooper, and one brother, William Hofler, of Hertford, N.C.
The body was removed to the James V. Derry Funeral Chapel.
