ObituaryAug 15, 2007  OBITUARY: KILL DEVIL HILLS - Ida Mathews Hofler, 84, died Aug. 14, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. Hofler was born in Perquimans County, North Carolina, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Manteo First Assembly of God, the United Methodist Women and loved visiting shut-ins. Mrs. Hofler was the daughter of the late Will and Gertrude Mathews.

Mrs. Hofler is survived by her husband, Willy Hurley Hofler Jr. of the residence; two daughters, Linda Tillett of Manteo and Betty Perry of Nashville, Tenn; a sister, Annie May Baker of Elizabeth City; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in Manteo First Assembly of God, Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ron Denham officiating. Burial will be in the Manteo Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Twiford Funeral Home, Manteo, today from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations designated for Missions c/o Manteo First Assembly of God, P.O. Box 785, Manteo, NC 27954.
