| Obituary | Nov 25, 2000 | OBITUARY: Richard E. Hatt, 59, of Pelham Hill Road, died Friday at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. He was a route deliveryman for the Daily Hampshire Gazette. Born in Northampton, he was a graduate of Amherst High School and an Army veteran. He was a member of the Mount Tom Repeater Association, a ham radio club. He leaves his wife, the former Ruth A. Battistoni; two sons, Army Sgt. Richard P. of Fort Benning, Ga., and David A. of Shutesbury; a daughter, Diane Tower of Monson; his mother, Rita (Whitcomb) Hatt of Amherst; two brothers, Robert of Leverett and Kenneth of Northampton; two sisters, Doris Snape of Orange and Marjorie Clark of Erving; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday evening at Douglass Funeral Service of Amherst. A calling hour will precede the service.
