Book Excerpt* | | Solon Edward Emerson, known as Ed, was born September 10, 1858 in Quebec, Canada (probably around Chester). As a child he went to Dunlap, Harrison County, Iowa, and grew to manhood there on his parents farm. He married there on December 2, 1891 to Elmyra A. Cunard, daughter of Aaron and Mary (Kelly) Cunard, born September 22, 1870 in Cass County, Iowa. Ed was a farmer, and resided in Dunlap til after 1902, by 1910 he was in nearby Woodbine, and later they moved west to Woodland, Cowlitz County, Washington. Ed died in that latter community on November 24, 1919; Mida (Elmyra) remained in this community many years and passed away there on March 30, 1960. They had four children.2 |
